Residenza d’epoca – Firenze

STATUS QUO AND MODERNITY

The concept made in collaboration with Silvia Moretti studio concerned the developement on an apartment located on the noble floor of a historic building in the center of Florence, next to Piazza Santa Croce. The feasibility study foresees the readjustment of the property to the receptive needs of an elegant period residence. Even if the conditions of the premises denounced a total lack of maintenance for a long time, the resulting personality was almost reinforced. The stimulus that we immediately perceived was to leave the space and finishes completely unaltered but to make the interventions immediately recognizable. The ceilings, the plasters, the doors, the floors therefore remain the same; what has been added and thus our proposal fit in, adds elements to what already exists. The status quo that is the result of centuries of sedimentation welcomes the contemporary in an extremely refined and elegant mix where the user finds himself living an interesting experience crossing time without ever giving up the comforts of modern accommodation.
The facilities do the rest; a large relationship area that opens onto an internal Renaissance courtyard allows guests to rest during the day or dine in a family atmosphere emphasized by an open kitchen.
